Why Cookware
Market Size + Trends
The global market of cookware was valued at USD 23.75 billion in 2021 with an expected growth rate of 6.5% from 2022 to 2030.
The Covid 19 pandemic has shifted people's attention towards wellness /health, family & friends, and home. Especially Millennials have significantly driven the popularity of cook-at-home meals, which, in turn, is driving the demand for cookware products [see ratings and a number of cooking shows].
Cookware is predominantly a traditional industry. With major brands sell their product based on heritage and/or brand reputation. Purchase decisions in the past were mostly made based on brand recognition or price.
With the Millennials significantly driving the popularity of cooking cook-at-home meals, which, in turn, is driving the demand for cookware products. However, with concerns over climate change and deforestation, consumers are increasingly demanding sustainable products. Cookware made from sustainable materials that are free of glues, polymers, coatings, or dyes is in demand now more than ever. Consumers are seeking products that are sustainable while also having an aesthetic appeal.
The mere fact that several million pieces of cookware are produced and disposed of each year demands attention. Plus: Every use of cookware consumes energy and, by performance failure, sometimes food waste too.

Why is Material a Factor
Impact throughout the product’s life cycle:
Complexity in the manufacturing process = usage of equipment + energy
User experience and performance = potential food waste
Energy efficiency while usage = increase energy bill
Recyclability = impact on the environment long term
Careful and comprehensive assessment of the material resources employed.
Benefits and Repairability of Ceramic Coating
Typically, pans have PTFE (Teflon) based non-stick coatings.
Benefits in the Production of ceramic coatings compared to PTFE coatings:
Ceramic is a single-layer coat (compared to mostly 3 layers for PTFE)
Reduces oven time
Saves energy
Emits 50% less CO2
Lower carbon footprint than Teflon-based coated products in manufacturing
However, the ceramic coating has a shorter lifespan as it wears off over time.
This is why our products come with repair, replacement and refurnishing services
When the ceramic coating is damaged or worn off, it will be removed with sandblasting and a new coating applied.
Transparent, Traceable, and Sustainable Supply Chain
From shipyard to assembly – the supply chain of our products is fully transparent.
Material is also traceable, e.g.; The batch of ceramic coating
Made in Germany each pan can be traced to its original production date.
Our supply chains and production are already fully compliant with LkSG*:
Transparency: Fully transparent supply chain from source to final assembly
Policies: Partners are all audited, sustainable, and in compliance with legal requirements
Risk assessment: Complete risk assessment of suppliers and material, incl. Grievance management and complaint mechanism
* LkSG = Lieferketten Sorgfaltspflichtengesetz; German Supply Chain Due Diligence Law
